Australian political icon and former PM John Howard warns against changing the definition of marriage

Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Australia’s second-longest serving PM and a person who embodies the rewards of persistance in one’s life calling, has warned against re-defining marriage in Australia. It was during Howard’s term as PM that the Marriage Act was clarified to include wording describing marriage as between one man and one woman, essentially making explicit in law what marriage had always been and had been understood to be.

Unlike many of today’s politicians who seem to have few qualms in changing their public state policy positions for political expediency (I’m looking at you, bill shorten and penny wong), Howard is a man of deeply and long-held principles who has rightly earned the respect and admiration of leaders worldwide. Australians would be well served to heed his warning, and consider carefully what kind of Australia the want to pass on to their children. Those that value freedom of speech, conscience, and religion and wish to retain the right to not have their children indoctrinated with the radical, false, unscientific ideology that is queer theory should vote NO in the Australian postal plebiscite on marriage.
